I heard that Chaos Group are working on Vray 4 beta and other than this video, showing Optix Denoiser with V-Ray GPU, I've not heard much else.. Perhaps Vlado can enlighten us as to what else we can expect to see in this new V-ray and perhaps when they expect the new version to be released, in the new year of course... being a beta I seriously doubt they will get it to release stage in 19 days, allowing for the fact that many will be on their holidays before that... Oh someone else tells me it will have a new dome light, that doesn't require portals, which I recall was mentioned by Vlado in an earlier post, somewhere on the forum.

These videos are from Vlado's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/thev1800/videos
I suspect they are only for showcasing the testing of Optix denoiser, nothing more. The release of 4.0 might be months away.

Yes of course the release will be a long way off as I am also sure, more details of Vray 4 will come out as time goes by..
I think what glorybound was pointing out, is Vlado's title for the video " V-Ray 4.0 for 3ds Max is here....". It is a little misleading, since it is actually only in beta right now and the title makes it sound like it's here now.

I see. I was surprised to see a video popup with the title "V-Ray 4.0 is here". Maybe it'll be under my tree for Christmas.

Correction. The "V-Ray 4 for 3DSMax is here:" part was added by CG Record. The originals shared on Vlado's channel do NOT mention it, other than seeing the "Vray 4.01.01" label in the actually videos.

I wish Nvidia would hurry up with the HBM memory on consumer cards, it will bring enormous speed gains.

                  Hey guys,

The next official V-Ray version is definitely some time away still, but there will be more news about this (very) soon. I just needed a test bed for the OptiX denoiser and that happened to be a 4.0 build.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

Thanks for clearing this up Vlado... This OptiX denoiser, is looking very promising, guess I should be seriously thinking of upgrading my system (GPU) in the new year. Definitely looking forward to more sneak peeks... "(very) soon"

                            seems a great implantation.

hope to test a beta when it is ready to test and report.

Will we at least see a 3.7x Version including RT_GPU fixes and new supported features anytime soon?
                              (That' be great news)
