  • motion blur problem in 1.46.10

    Hi,

    Here's a problem i'm having:

one frame is motion blurred, next one is not, then again, then not etc...

    The vray messages windows says:
"object 'Parray01' has changing topology, can't motion blur mesh deformations"

Weird thing is that there are no mesh deformations! The pieces are pieces from a sphere blown up as mesh fragments.

Maybe the problem starts when some fragments start to die out (life has large variation, so that they don't die all at once).

Anyone knows what I can do about that? And why can't vray motion blur mesh deformations?? Don't you use that all the time (for example in character animations where bodies are deformed)

    kind regards,

    wouter

i dont think its so much as mesh deformations. its more of mesh reconstruction. in a character the vertex remain constant but change possition so vray can track the vertex to know where they are going to make the motion blur. however its vertex dissapear then it doesnt know where it went to and doesnt know what to do. so with your dying particles it doesnt know what to do i guess. it would be good if vray could track where a dead particle would have gone to if it was alive then create the motion blur for it yet have the motion blur fade out to point of death if that makes any sence to you.

      Exactly what Da_elf said.

If your particles die only on frame boundaries, but not between frames, you may get away with setting the Interval center to 0.5 and the Duration to less than 1.0, for example 0.9.

dont know if this will help but, Im rendering now glu3d mesh and it has bigtime hard time with it so i put pointCache modifier and cashed it on disk that helped...

Dmitry, did you try the keep object topology option in Glu?

            I'll try the 0.9 solution!

            thanks,
