  • Render to texture vraynormalsmap output has jagged edges

While using render to texture to bake a normal map using projection mapping I end up with fairly visible jagged edges. All the changes I've made with noise settings in the render set up have had no effect. When I increase the filtering amount it blurs it more but the jaggedness is still there. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance

As far as I understand it, anti-aliasing only looks into what it finds in the diffuse channel (or in render elements that have a "consider for anti-aliasing" switch). Most of the time the normal map alone doesn't cause enough detail in the diffuse channel, so what you could try is putting your normal map into the diffuse slot as well. At least for me it helped cleaning up the normal map bake considerably. This of course means, that you have to bake it separately from the diffuse.
