  • Rendering internal faces with shader

    Hey guys,

I'm just curious as to whether anyone has a way of rendering "internal faces", such as cracks in ice, or quartz crystal or maybe even sponge/bubbles? Would it be possible with the vray scatter volume? Presumably IOR comes into play in some internal cracking circumstances too?

I don't have any particular use in mind, this is purely just theory/for fun.

Did you try to fracture your mesh? I once did cracked crystals that way.

I have given that a go using a script, but the results looked obviously CG. Did you do it manually?
