Backburner problem

BTW, just ran manager on the same machine giving me the fits with server. Server still does not see Manager, even when both run on the same machine.

There has to be a very basic problem there. I just know too little about backburner to know where to begin looking.

IP of manager machine is 192.168.0.2
IP of server machine is 192.168.0.4

Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

yes,

in the server window

edit>gerneral settings> EnterSUbnet Mask

Change it so that it is

255.255.255.0 , if that doesnt work,

put in the ip of the manager.

The subnet mask in this office is 255.255.0.0. If I set it to 255.255.255.0 in backburner then the servers don't see the manager. Ask your IT dept what the subnet mask is for your network.

I am the IT guy - and that's likely the problem!

As I interpret the help file based upon my network setup, 255.255.255.0 is what I should be using. Obviously there is a problem though, so I shall surely give your idea a try.
