I guess, in my case, either would work. I'll try relative and see if that changes things.

I just ran a test and with the RenderPro 2, it was 39% slower.

I really think it's that you're wireless rather than wired. Take a look at the network graph in the "performance" tab of the Task Manager during DR rendering and see if you're maxing out the bandwidth. Since the BOXX is setup now maybe just move it in to the same room temporarily and run a wire between them?

The network graph looks fine. I tried to attach, but it isn't working.

Switch to bucket and see how the times are. Using Progressive and DR it always seems like the slaves are running at 25% even if I played with the ray bundle size. Add in the overhead of using DR and you'll probably have slower renders.

Wouldnt it be more effective to render images per node? So if you have 3 images to render you could do 2 on your ws and one on your boxx. 30% increase in speed and less hassle.

Maybe, but I like to monitor them along the way, stopping to tweak things, until it is perfect (as if there is a perfect). I haven't even started to think about backburner. Unless it got better over the last few years, I remember it being a headache in itself.

Can understand your backburner apprehension. But since max2016 its all gone smoothly for me. Admittedly I'm still using 2016 but adding nodes and multiple plugin updates haven't caused any issues.

I've been using backburner for 6 years 5 nodes and it works perfectly. I have no reason to complain.
