    Yeah, it is a ghost town. About the time they changed the forum is about the time things went dead. I don't know if it is because there is no app for the new forum or if it's because most went to the Corona forum. I guess everyone could just be too busy. It would be ashamed if forum went away.

        That I'm not a robot really tripped me up this morning, totally missed in and was trying to post earlier and kept getting errors till my brain kicked in and saw the button lol.

                It is odd that Facebook would be the place to meet. Isn't Facebook kind of dead to the younger crowd? Unless that is where the dinosaurs are going.

                    yeah but ive gotta say, ive got 3 outstanding issues in the "problems" section for the last week or so, with no replies.. a few years ago id have expected replies from chaos in hours! i guess they are a much bigger company now, cant deal with everyone.

                    back in the good old days (circa 2005) i flagged a problem with vrayfur here, and within 15 hours vlado sent me an updated build with the issue resolved... i fear those days are long gone (not to criticise the guys here.. as i said, hard to do that kinda service when youve grown as much as chaos have).

                      I would say dedicated tech support channel is there for getting help asap. "problems" section is for more relaxed issues.
                      used it not a long time ago. got sorted just fine.

                        ahh yeah of course, if it was urgent i would have emailed them.. however ive just noted that it seems to take rather longer to get a response than in the past.. maybe a combination of clientbase growth, the guys being busy with Next and TotalChaos, and many people drifting over to the facebook page..

                          Forums have been invaluable to me. I cannot overstate that. I have no opurtunity for interaction or critique with others in my field aside from forums. Starting with the early compuserve 3ds which was very helpful but fizzled when compuserve became obsolete. I got lot?s of help from CGarchitect but it became so popular it diluted the effectiveness for me. I came to this forum after leaving cgarchitect. This forum is much more focused and has been very helpful to me in many ways (thanks to all). The ADesk max forum is, for me, useless.

                          I hope this forums lives on, history seems to suggest the inevitable evolution to something else

                            I think the main reason is many member on corona forum (include famous 3d artist) can share their knowledge and always have people reply your question. But with vray forum, i can't get information, i think contact support will be faster. But with support we can't conversation and get more knowledge. They don't have time for conversation.
                            Post a question and never give a reply or comment. It's really bad.

                                Personally, I wouldn't say the forum is "bad" now, I would say that it is not nearly as active as it was.
