Anyone have a trick for properly rotating HDRIs? Specifically for those HDRIs that have a sun. I have been using trial and error, or inserting a chrome ball in my scene. It would be nice to see the thing and be able to rotate the sun into position in the Top view. Any tricks to doing this?

    Thanks

drag it from the material editor to your max environment slot. then go to viewport-background. click use environment background. the hdri should show up in your viewport. now you should be able to either rotate the hdri by rotating in your scene, or rotate the hdri by using the rotation spinner in the vray hdri material.

oh wait missed that you want to rotate it in the top view... I just do the aforementioned method and rotate it until i can see that the light in the scene and the sun in the hdri are lined up in the perspective viewport.
