  • Lights stored with Irradiance Map don't have specular

I sometimes use "Store with irradiance map" option when I need a quick render without noise. However, when this option is enabled, these lights don't have specular reflections. This way, the rendered picture looks kind of different.
So if I want to achieve a more realistic look, I have to duplicate the light, and for the copied light disable "Store with IM" and "Affect diffuse" options, this way I have a specular, but I have to manage 2 lights instead of 1.

If it does not take too much effort, it would be nice to come up with a solution where the IM stored lights also affect specular.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks!

This has always been the case; the irradiance map stores only diffuse information. Storing specular information is not trivial, unfortunately.
