V-Ray Next Trial installation

Is it possible to install V-Ray Next trial without overwriting V-Ray 3.6? I tried but it just uninstalled 3.6.

No, it's not possible to have the two renderers side by side in the same version of 3ds Max - it's not only a matter of render settings, but also materials, textures, lights etc. However you can install different V-Ray versions in different 3ds Max versions.
