  • vraydisplacement workflow problem (spikes)

i'm trying to apply vraydisplacement to only a selected part of my object. where i select a area of polygons apply a mapping to them and then apply displacement to that specific texture channel. this all works fine but it gives me geometry steaks at the edge of my selection.
i tried several things like cropping the outside pixel line of the bitmap. the best result i got was using a base vraycolor in a composite map and add my displacement over it.
i'm all good with the unwarp workflow but i'm trying to find faster and different ways to apply displacement. any suggestions on this front?

this maybe due to either bad geometry, or bad uvs. Can you share this object here for inspection?
