  • Product rendering HDRI leaking through

    Hey guys,
I've got a problem with V-Ray Next GPU HDRI lighting. There is a floor in my scene set to matte alpha -1 and a desk on top. A dome light with an HDRI attached. After rendering I saved the image with alpha, opened in Photoshop and put a white layer beneath it. And now I see not only the nice and soft shadows but also ugly parts of the HDRI leaking through. The problem is gone when switching from GPU to CPU renderer. See attached images. What can I do to solve the problem? Is there a workaround? CPU rendering is not an option, it's to slow.
    Regards

The image on the right is what you saved, yes?

Well, the result is as expected, then.
You are saving the image with background from HDRI. When you apply the alpha, you will of course get it leaking through. Render again on black or white background, and the problem should be gone.

Next try: I disabled the visibility of the domelight, the background disappeared, but I get much noise in the alpha shadow. When using the denoiser the edges look wonky.
Sometimes GPU rendering drives me crazy.

The noisy alpha shadow is a known one. I will bump the priority.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

That's good news, when will the update be released?
