  • Adaptive lights - how are you supposed to use it?

Been rendering scenes with adaptive lights turned on and set to the default of 8. In any scene with more than 8 lights, it doesnt work. This is a crop of the raw light pass, but this is visible in the base render.
With 8 lights exactly it's fine - add one more, and these huge black blotches appear all over the image.
We are using vray 3.50.03, max 2016.

Are you supposed to raise the number of adaptive lights to be higher than the number of lights in the scene to stop this from happening?
We have a whole bunch of images to re-render tonight, do we need to send them at full evaluation?

Try V-Ray 3.60, if the issue is still there, can you get us a scene to support@chaosgroup.com ? These artifacts should not appear generally - adaptive lights have been enabled by default for a long time now without issues.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
