Hi last week Friday I was on a very tight deadline to get a massive (20k x10k) render out so it had to be rendered on rebus, I encountered a few problems however once the files were rendered and then downloaded.
1. There were fireflies all over the GI pass after a lot of calling rebus for support (which didn't go anywhere, although they were nice enough) and a lot of sending up test scenes with different settings I found out that the fireflies stopped occurring once the adaptive dome light setting was turned off. Th interesting thing is that when rendering on just my machine there were no fireflies, it may just be a distributed rendering issue or a strip rendering issue which is what rebus does when rendering on multiple machines.
Attached are 2 renders, it's a small section of the scene with everything stripped out except from a few pieces of geometry to test the scene.
2. The second problem which I was never able to get around was the 32bit exr that is automatically saved out of the Vray settings output, it was and is not able to be opened by photoshop or even the VFB itself, the only software that I had that could open the exr was affinity photo. This is very odd and doesn't make any sense as all my older files can be opened in all my photo editing programmes. The exr's saved straight from the actual VFB work in photoshop just fine, but not from the Vray settings output.
I've attached a render element from the scene, it's an exr that was saved from the vray setting output and is not compatible with Photoshop or Vray's own VFB.
I hope these issues shed some light on any bugs that may be present in Vray next atm.
I'm using 3ds max 2019 and Vray Next official.
Thanks.
