VFB weird problem

So Im scrambling to get a job rendered but seems Ive run in to a weird problem that I cant get my head around, besides being too crancky and tired ATM but running in to an issue that I render a frame, do some edits in the VFB, save it and then when I close the VFB everything shuts down including max all together. Ive restarted max 3 times and done this 3 times in a row. no idea what the hell is causing it but its headed for the lake shortly if I cant get it to render...

Just a wild guess. If it happens during or just after the saving process, maybe you are clicking the close button on the window too many times before the image is fully done saving. Max usually freezes for a few seconds when saving stuff and if you start clicking multiple times the close button on any window (could be VFB, could be material editor, doesn't matter), you are essentially telling Windows that your app has probably frozen and you want to force close it. So when closing the window, don't click more than a couple of times or so unless you are absolutely sure that the app has frozen and you want to terminate it.
