  • 3ds max region render bug

When going from a region render (set in the 3ds max common tab) back to a view render, vray will only render the previous region. The workaround I do is to set the region boundaries to the full view and then it will be fine again. Was present in 3.6 and just saw it happen in Next.

The region render in Common tab is 3ds Max's region render functionality so I'm almost certain this is not related to Vray and can only be fixed by Autodesk. If you do a test with Mental Ray or Arnold renderer you'll see the same issue. The problem that you described happens if you remove the region render BUT render by pressing F9 or clicking on the Render last icon (the teapot) in Vray's frame buffer. To avoid the problem you described, every time you change the Area to Render from Region to View and vice versa, use the big Render button at the top right in the Render Setup window (F10).

Hmmmm, needs to be fixed by Autodesk. Well that won't happen then. Thanks for the tips!
