  • Studio lighting - Light underneath the floor, has something changed with Vray Next?

    As the title says,

not 100% sure but sitting in front of vray next for me it seems something happened with the include/exclude function of the vray lights.
Wasn`t it ok in earlier Versions to place a light (as a reflector) underneath the floor of a studio setup and just exclude the floor from the light, so you can create reflections on the objects on sides pointing downwards?
When i try it now with the Vray next it shows up Specular contribution somehow but no reflection? Is this correct behavior?
Kinda tried every combination like turning off refl/refr in obj settings etc.

Someone who has the trick to do it? thanks in advance!

      Hi,
In order to have a reflection in your case, you can exclude the ground from the reflections of your objects ( VRayProperties -> Reflection exclude… )

If you don’t want to make the setting on all the objects, you can disable cast shadows and visible to reflection/refraction in the object properties of the ground.
