    Hey,
    I get a reprocucable crash to desktop in a particular scene. Attached you will find the minidump created by 3dsMax after the crash.

    This is the last entry in the V-Ray logfile:

    UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Rendering region (1088,124-(1120,1280)
    Last marker is at ./src/globillummap.cpp, line 2364: GlobalIllumMap::buildLightMap() {5}

      Setting the bucket sequence to anything else then Triangulation avoids the crash. No idea why this happens, but we just tried the same scene on another workstation, with the same result: Crash at exactly the same part of the image when bucket sequence is set to Triangulation. Hilbert Curve for example works fine in both cases.

        IPR and Progressive also work flawlessly. Strange bug indeed!

          Did this ever happen before with triangulation?

            Alright, I was wrong. It does crash with any bucket sequence, but at a different location. Can somebody from Chaos please finally get in touch with me, I need to get this rendered very quickly!

                Hello,

                Sorry for the delayed reply.
                I've checked the crash dump but it doesn't contain enough information to be sure. It looks like some problem related to the render elements in your scene but couldn't get more info.
                Best would be if you could send the scene to our support or to me and we to try to reproduce the crash here.
                Another thing to try if possible - do you get crashes with V-Ray Next ?

                Best regards,
                Yavor

                  I narrowed the problem down to a material with refraction glossiness. I disabled that and it worked. Scene is under NDA unfortunately.
                  I didn't try Next, because we didn't upgrade yet because of the artifact bug with adaptive dome light.

                    Would the problem reproduce if you assign the problem material to some simple geometry ?

                      I didn't test yet.
