  • V-Ray Material - Fog color

Hello, I'm having problems mapping a bitmap texture to the fog color slot. I applied a UV map for the texture and I can see it take place when I apply the texture to the Diffuse slot, but for some reason when I apply it to the fog color slot it ignores the UV mapping and just tiles at an odd angle. I'm not sure why it respects the UV for all the other slots but not the fog color slot. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Dani

    Hello,

Indeed applying a texture to the fog color slot doesn't work as expected. Just to make sure we are on the same page, could you please send a simple scene for investigation?

Thank you for sending a scene example.

A further examination showed that a texture loaded in the fog color slot is working as expected. For a proper refraction calculation - the geometry should have some thickness. 3d textures are required for proper refraction, including fog color as well. There are some issues with the geometry,so using the "Retriangulate" option in Edit Polygons section seems to fix them.

Ok, thanks. I'll try the adjustments you recommended.
