  • Strange new Backburner problem "3ds max adaptor error could not read/write"

It's saying it cannot read or write from my assets/images folder.

I don't know why it needs to write anything there.

I have set all the folder permissions to read and write.

    Checked all assets

It renders correctly direct from max, just not over backburner.

The file is set up like every other project I've made in the last 10 years.

the only thing unique about this file is that I made it with Vray Next Beta and I'm rendering it with Vray next final.

What user are you running backburner server with? Administrator, not admin, Local system account (if it runs as a service)? Try using an administrator user, also - try another scene to test if the same issue will appear.

All other projects work fine - just not that one.

I had this same problem a while back. I tried everything....in the end I merged everything into a new scene and it seemed to of corrected it. may worth giving it a go

"Old faithful!" - tried that. Didn't work. Thanks though!
