  • TextureBaking with VrayExposure does not work

    Hello,

i couldn't find any Topic with this issue, i can hardly beleive no one has noticed it so far. Therefore I hope I have missed some simple Setting

If you want to bake textures (VrayCompleteTexture), and you have a Scene with a Teapot, VraySun, VraySky and VrayExposureControl turned on, you get the baked result as if the VrayExposure is turned off.
In simple Terms, Vray seems to ignore VrayExosure during render-to-texture (baking) process.

Is there any Workaround for it?

    thanks in advance
    best regards

Generally in 3ds Max the exposure control is supposed to be applied to the viewport rendered image (although I've never actually seen this working correctly) so technically it shouldn't be included in the baked texture maps otherwise you would get double exposure. But of course this doesn't help if you are baking to an 8-bit file format, so it might make sense to include the exposure... not quite sure what to do here. For the moment, you can go to the "Color mapping" section of V-Ray and set the "Multiplier" to a lower value like 0.01.
