  • Standalone: VRAY_ASSETS_PATH Can't find .ifl files.

    Hello,
I'm using the VRAY_ASSETS_PATH env. variable so Vray standalone can find the assets linked in the .vrscene file (strip paths on while exporting). Standalone is able to find all necessary files except for .ifl files generally.
Even though the file is within the directory that the environment variable points to.

The error message I'm getting is :
Image file list "myBitmaps.ifl" failed to load: Error opening included file "myBitmaps.ifl"

can you confirm this? If so, can you please fix it?

    thank you
    -Robert

    More questions:

with windows it seems like I have to run an elevated cmd in order for the standalone renderer to find assets using the VRAY_ASSETS_PATH env variable.
If the cmd is not elevated it will not be able to find assets in the VRAY_ASSETS_PATH even though I have a VRAY_ASSETS_PATH as USER and SYSTEM variable.

Can you confirm this as well? vray.exe should be able to parse through the USER env. variables without being administrator, right?

    Thank you
    -Robert

      ----------------------------EDIT!--------------------------------

I've found out that this is related to a completely different Issue!
The Env. Variable works fine. Sorry for the fuzz.

It seems that if you have "stripped paths" in a .vrscene file,
the images that are linked in an .ifl file can not be found by Vray,
even though the .ifl file and it's containing maps is in the same directory as the .vrscene file.

I'm opening another thread to report this issue.

      Thank you
      -Robert
