  • Artifact in animation

    Hi all...
I have a 3000 frame animation to render asap. Fortunately I did som test renders and I get some artifacts when in this case a spirit level appears and moves. Can anyone give som clues of what and why this happens?
I am a bit unsure about Vray when it comes to rendering animations, because there is always (for me that is) issues with flickering. The scene is lit by a HDRI Dome light.
I use 3dsmax 2018 & Vray Next with the setup as the picture shows.
The short clip can be seen here:

    Take care
    Matthias

Are you rendering bruteforce or with IR map? Do the 'artifacts' appear in the GI or in other render passes? Do they still appear with a material override? Are you using adaptive dome light?

Hi Ashley! Thanks for taking the time and answer! Much appretiated
I´m rendering this with BF+LC. It did appear in the GI pass but I found that the artifact disappeared when I turned the adaptive dome light off. I hope this is all that is needed!

Any input on overall do´s and don´t ´s when it comes to vray and animations? Lights, HDRI, good render settings...?

There are still some hiccups with Adaptive Domelight (square artifacts), might want to send your scene to Chaosgroup with a link to this thread so they can iron out all the kinks.

For animation I suggest you read this thread it has some valuable insight: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...tion-rendering
