  • Max 2019 freaks out during rendering

    Hi

We have big Problems with rendering with Vray under 3dsmax 2019. Max starts blinking, windows disappear, reappear, the progamwindow and VFB turn temporarily white. I can not stop the rendering anymore. Even if the buckets dont move and it looks like a crash or halt, the rendering is still going on in the back and max will come back after rendering, but not be able to cancel a rendering anymore is not an option.
    It looks like this: https://vimeo.com/298171716

I tried to lower the priority of Max in the task manager and even exclude one CPU core from the Process. Didn't help.

    This is what I use:
    Windows 10 1803 build: 17134.345
    3dsMax 2019.1. 64bit
    Vray 3.60.04

    CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2630 v4 2.20 GHz
    RAM: 64 GB
    GPU Geforce GTX 1070

    Any Ideas?

    thanks in advance
    Michael

Actually "low priority thread" under settings helped, to get rid of the blinking windows. But for my colleague, it didn't.

I've had exactly the same problem. I think it was back when I was testing Max 2019. I decided to go back to 2018 for numerous reasons and I don't seem to get this problem anymore.
      Max 2023.2.2 + Vray 6 Update 2.1 ( 6.20.06 )
      AMD Ryzen 7950X 16-core | 64GB DDR5 RAM 6400 Mbps | MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Suprim X 24GB (rendering) | GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FE 11GB (display) | GPU Driver 546.01 | NVMe SSD Samsung 980 Pro 1TB | Win 10 Pro x64 22H2

We've had similar issues, well I say 'we', my colleague does.

He gets the exact same behavior, I don't. Same workstations, same files too.
