  • GPU distributed rendering problem

I have 2x 2080ti on my main rig, and a render node with 2x 1080ti. When I render with just my main, it goes fast. When I render without local host and just the render node, it goes fast. When i use them both together it goes very slow. What could be causing this?

    Thanks

Hm, interesting problem. What is the CPU usage on the main machine while rendering?

I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but I updated my 2080ti driver to 416 (from 411) to match the 416 driver on the render node and for the first time it seems to be working normal. Rendered just main rig (20:20), and with both (14:07). The number of passes is very different. Looks like it got like 50% more passes in about 30% less time. Not really sure how that works and why number of passes would be different.
Was curious if the build for GPU bucket rendering is available as a nightly to compare that as well.

      Thanks

Okay, thanks for the update. Good to know that it is better now.
Goal is to have V-Ray GPU bucket rendering in official builds before the end of the year.
