  • Crash with Prepass calculation of irradiance map

    There is a report to crash at animation(Prepass) of the irradiance map at Win7 + 3dsMax 2018 + V-Ray 3.60.04.

    condition is

    - Deformation object exists
    - Start rendering from non-zero (from example 1 frame)

    What is the cause?
    Are there points to check?

For example, Prepass output destination crashes even if it is UNC or locally.

Confirmation environment [On the customer side, I will not reproduce in my environment.]

      Sorry for the delay!
This is a known issue and it is registered under VMAX-5838 in our bug-tracking system. It occurs with the modes Animation (prepass) or Animation (rendering) of the Irradiance map and only in Win 7.
The workaround would be to use Brute Force + Light cache, which is also the recommended method for rendering animations.

Ok. It is already in bug tracking.

Well, the Irradiance map is a function that should be abolished in due course, understand that the priority is low.

        Thanx
