If the vray frame buffer is lost offscreen (if a second monitor you used blew out), you can hold down Shift while right-clicking the window thumbnail in the Windows taskbar, then choose "Move" and use your arrow keys.

If your vray render dialog box or other elements are offscreen, you can find the 3dsmax.ini file in your local C:/users/AppData/Autodesk/3dsmax/ENU/ folder or someplace similar, and delete it. 3dsmax will reset the location of some of those windows.

If your vray light lister is off screen, neither of those two options work. The vray light lister does not show up as a separate window thumbnail in the Windows taskbar, nor is it reset by the 3dsmax.ini file. So you have to have specific keystrokes. First, go into the 3dsmax Views pulldown and verify that the vray light lister is off (unchecked). Then click the vray light lister icon in your icon ribbon. Then, because you are in that off-screen window, even though you cannot see it, click Alt+spacebar, then "M", then hold down the arrow key for the direction you want the window to move to, until the window moves back into your main screen. I had to do this 2-3 times because I messed up, moving the mouse, clicking someplace else, etc, and your keystrokes need to be in direct order.

      Hope it helps.
