  • vray proxy doesn't support motion blur

just imported an alembic data of some animated simulation through vray proxy

unfortunately motion blur is not working
i looked it up and noticed a post about this issue from 2014

any updates about this issue or may be some workarounds ?

    thanks in advance

This is working fine since a long time ago. Do you have a velocity channel present and if yes - how is it called? V-Ray will recognize a few common names but maybe you use a different one.

i really feel like am missing something so please help me out

the alembic file i have is only one file as .ABC

its simulated using phoenix fd and exported as alembic using 3dsmax's export and am pretty sure he checked to export the velocity channel on the output rollout

imported the .ABC file using vray proxy > turned on motion blur on render setting camera rollout

rendered in the middle of the animation
cant see any motion blur nor any data in the velocity render element

i hope you correct me if something is wrong with that workflow

I think the problem is in the export, but I will need help from the Phoenix guys to say more.

Hey Arch.Hany , here is a thread in the Phoenix forums where this is discussed: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...embic-velocity

We have already scheduled this task for the coming month, so if there is any way we could export our vertex velocities, will ping you to grab a latest nightly and try it out.

          Cheers!

            Hey again,

In the latest Phoenix nightlies we have added support for exporting vertex velocity for motion blur in Abc files - you can check more about it here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...withmotionblur

            Hope this helps, cheers!
