  • VRay GPU not seeing one of my cards

    Hi Guys,

My main card in my machine is a 1080ti. GPU render sees that no problem. My old 980TI which I have in my machine as a second card gpu render can use is not showing up in vray or in tool for setting devices.

    Any ideas?

This means that the operating system can't see the GPU. Sometime Windows update manages to mess the drivers and usually reinstalling the latest drivers + restart the PC after that (regardless of if the driver ask for restart or not) helps.

You can try going in this folder "C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI", open a console and run "nvidia-smi.exe". This is NVIDIA tool that reports which GPUs the NVIDIA driver recgonizes in your computer.

Navigate to the folder where the nvidia-smi.exe is located.
Type "cmd" in the address bar and press enter https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d2Z...w?usp=drivesdk
A console will show. Write "nvidia-smi.exe" in it and press enter https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Okq...w?usp=drivesdk
The driver will print in the console the list of devices that it finds on your computer.

Okay, so for sure this is setup issue.
Maybe hardware or driver problem, but I can’t really help with that :/

                  Hi,

Got into to work late last night. Downloaded a bunch of different drivers. Tried a couple of older ones and found one that worked. Thanks for all the help BTW!
