  • Tiny buckets in the Effect Result pass

I just noticed that when I render with progressive and use the Vray denoiser at default the Effect results pass have tiny bucket artifacts showing up. How do I resolve this. Just using my master machine no DR.

Those arent bucket artefacts. If you look at the noisy raw render you'll notice some bright pixels in there. These bright pixels are what you see in the denoiser as "buckets" like you put it. Increase your settings for the progressive mode (either more time or more samples)
Or switch to bucket mode on defaults
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

Ok...never had this issue pre VrayNext. What settings do you recommend?

raise AA / lower noise threshold.

            wow, 0.003?
24 subdivs will likely not reach it..
look at this, and you should be able to figure out what you'll need.

The V-Ray denoiser works best when the image has relatively constant noise levels; isolated bright pixels have always been a problem. I have some ideas to try and improve it for Update 2.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

LeLe...read a bit...realized I need to move upward, and find the sweet spot. Started with the Universal setting of 1/100 and started from there. 1/50 and .003 gave me what I wanted.

Could you test and see what you get on 1/32 and 0.01?
                  Kind Regards,
