  • Problem with matte object and reflections

I have a scene where I have an HDRI loaded into a dome light for reflections, ground plane that has Visible for reflection/refraction disabled, and an object that I want to set to matte. The problem is that once I set it to matte, its reflections in other objects become black. If I hide the ground object, the reflections from the matte object reappear. So it seems that objects with Visible for reflection/refraction disabled render as if this is enabled for matte objects? Is this normal? I found a workaround though - using Trace Sets to remove the ground object from the reflections of the matte object.

    I've recorded a video (attached).

Can you send the scene to support@chaosgroup.com?
I tried to recreate the same setup here but couldn't reproduce the problem, most probably we are missing something.
