No Vray menus/toolbar icons and registerVRayMenus() doesn't work

As title. Currently we are testing Max 2018 and Vray Next Update 1 which we launch using a .bat config file. When Max opens, there's no toolbar icons and no Vray menu items. When imputting registerVRayMenus() in to the listener, I get the following

Any ideas?
