  • Next GPU - Alternatives to BerconTILE???

    Hi all

    We're highly reliant on Bercontile in our workflow as its used in 8 out of 10 projects. In those projects, we cant use GPU since bercontile doesnt work with NEXT GPU.
    Sticking a simple bercontile into diffuse with defaults, simply doesnt work in GPU (warning: Using unsupported "UVW Mapping Type" for Bercon noise (in Map #1@tex_0)uvwgen).

    Whats the alternatives??? (besides Vizparks Wall and Tile which I've heard a lot of people having issues with)

    Walls & Tiles uses Bercon maps and their own Crossmap plugin, so it won't work either. I use the Walls & Tiles standalone and generate huge maps out of it to use as bitmaps then. Not very procedural but when big enough, works fine and you can use 2d displacement instead of 3D so lots of advantages that way.

      How big do you go? Patches that can cover 20m X 20m?

        I've made textures that covered 20m yes. You can render until 16K but you can always combine different textures if you need more resolution.
