Noise from highlights in fast-moving objects

Hey guys,
please take a look at the attached images. I am getting a noise pattern caused by the sun of an HDRI. The noise appears in fast-moving objects with motion blur. I have no idea how to fix this. I tried raising the Min. AA, raising the MSR, lowering noise threshold. Nothing helps, it is looking exactly the same. Maybe the issue is related to this problem here, where I am also not able to fix the noise:

Looks like you need to increase max subdivs. Only problem is that it might get really really slow.
edit: nevermind looked at the other thread you made and you already tried that.. though there's yet another thread discussing this problem, maybe you can gleam some tips from there:
