  • crashing on network render

I am getting a very weird error message on my network renders. Vray bitmapdata vray init Cannot apply lens effects. Missing bloom id mask channel. The wierd things is I not using any fx, or blooms etc etc. Has anyone run into this issue?

Using max 2019 and vray next with the upgrade.

My 3ds max has been crashing randomly everyday for over 2 weeks. Doesn't matter if I have been modeling, texturing, rendering etc it just crashes. Doesnt matter what scene it is, I could just launch max and it crashes.

Anyone else running into anything like this?

    Thanks
    Alex

    Cheers

I've not encountered this problem, but I'm not using 2019 either. I'm on 2018.4 + Vray Next Update 1.

Hmm. Well I am not saying its related to vray but I have uninstalled vray completely from max 2019 and I have been using the scan line render ( yes scan line ) and max has not crashed or locked up at all, no matter what I did inside of max. I will try and grab a nightly build and install and see how that works.

      Cheers

I have 2019 and VrayNext...and I got to say, it's not a very stable combination. Keep in mind that 3ds MAX has never been a stable product, but VrayNext is acting strange.

Mine actually got to the point that I can not use it together. Just very strange things and completely unstable. Not sure why, I have been working with autodesk to find solutions but now I am thinking its a vray thing and not a max issue.

Without any additional info (scenes, dump files) we can't do anything to help you.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

              Peter,
I am going to reinstall a nightly build and see if I get the same issues. I will let you know.
              Cheers
