  • Cryptomatte and antialiasing

    Hello,
so, o tried to tick filtering on in the cryptomatte element but got thw came pixelated jaggx outlines of my scene masks. Is this even supported? Or is it against principles of usage? Is ot somehow smoothed out later in the proces when the image is comped? I ve never heardt of any post process edge smoothing and the masks without antialiasing are impossible to work with for me.

Would a nice soul give me some insights here please?
    Thank you!

I always wondered who would use non-anti-aliased masks. Why is there even an integer option in matid and objectid?

Where do you use the Cryptomatte passes?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

i was gonna cheat and separate the masks manually in PS and use it in the PS project.

This is not how Cryptomatte works. You need the plugin on the "other" side - Nuke / After Effects.

Cryptomatte isn't "human readable" (the name says it) it needs a plugin to work right. Once you have it working you can pull mattes from any object in the scene and even use object or material names to access them. AA will be fine.

ok thanks for this explanation thats enough for me.
I am now using PSD manager for all the possible mattes, which is fine, bud in sifuations with DOF its not that capable.
