It is odd... the saved PSD from PDS Manager didn't have the artifacts.

      Those look like denoised fireflies.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Yes, you are correct. If I isolate the VRayDenoiser layer they are there. How do I avoid this?

With a machine like yours, I wouldn't even touch denoiser.

Glad I'm not the only one getting these.

Denoiser is priceless for quick grayscale proofs. I can render a grayscale in seconds. For finals, I guess I can turn it off. I rarely use it at more than a very mild setting, anyway.

That's too bad...it was working pretty good before. I would use it to save my 4k projects when they had short deadlines.

The V-Ray denoiser has always had some issues with fireflies and isolated bright pixels and hasn't really changed much since the original implementation; I have some plans on improving it for Update 2.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

It's working exactly the same as before. This specific situation has always been problematic. I have some ideas to improve it for Update 2.

                    Vlado

Hmm...I never noticed. I love it because it gave me clean images in a set time. I know there was refraction issues with glass, but that was easily fixed by letting the rendering have more time to process.
