  • Vray underusing GPUs?

Does the GPU performance monitor in task manager accurately reflect Vray's usage?

See screenshot, GPU 0 runs around 25%, and GPU 1 1% - this is the case when rendering locally and via deadline.

Latest version of vray and max.

Use the dropdown to choose the right graph - Compute. Anyway I would recommend using some 3rd party software like MSI AfterBurner or EVGA Precision. We have our own statistics in the VFB as well.

If it was that easy, it would have already been done

im having a similar issue here, i only get about 25% of the GPU's (6xGTX1080ti) capacity used.

i have installed the 419.17 nividia driver.
      best regards

when i set the dropdown on "Compute_0" it shows no activity, when i set it on "Cuda" it shows a usage around 25%.
i guess u supose i should have a try with some third party software then to monitor the graphicscards usage.

i'm having a gpu setup with a Biostar tb250-btc motherboard, which is originaly meant for mining. could there be any reason this setting could cause some slowdown?
also i have only 8gb of ram (which i gonne increase very soon).

So those cards have 11 GB VRAM and that 8 GB system RAM is definitely a showstopper for any kind of meaningful gpu rendering. Also it is strongly recommended to pack a relatively powerful CPU (i7 f.e.) for multi GPU setups.

ok, thank you for your advice. i increase the ram, and have a look how it performs.
so mybe i get a faster cpu then aswell.
              thank you Peter!
