    Hi ,


    we have a very serious problem on our small farm, where after last update, 3 out of 10 machines show some weird spawner crashing right after the spawners are started.

    They keep starting up and crashing right away. And this repeats in an infinite loop.

    I ve ran a vray debug too i was given by some time ago by one of Chaoses support guys, so i guess i ve managed to get the DUMP file, which is in the attachment.

    Please let us know whats going on, its damagingn our production.

    Hello,

    The crash happens in this DLL:
    C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvml.dll


    Maybe some Windows Update changed the nVidia drivers on those machines or are they headless ?
    Are you starting the spawner as a service or from a regular user account ?

      Hi Yavor!

      we have normal graphics cards on those nodes.
      meaning theyre quite old.

      no denoising is happening in those sent files so why it has problems with NVIDIA drivers?

      the spawners are ran "manually" - we have them in the startup folder so they start whenever computer starts.

        Do you get the crash with backburner rendering as well? Also f.e. when using the Scanline renderer?

          yes unfortunatelly with both and with deadline too :-/

              we are also getting this at the end of almost every render sent to BB.
              Although everything is relinked and and missing assets are checked.

              Weirdest thing is that it renders in DR without any missing maps nicely but when the vrimg is saved, BB returns this error and the render starts again which disables us from actually scheduling any renders in BB:

                What version of 3ds MAX are you using? We recently upgraded to 2019 from 2016 and when we started the spawner from the chaogroup programs folder they wouldn't start . When I searched for vrayspawner for 2019 and launched the worked perfectly.

                  The video card drivers are needed for the Max viewport so if something is messed up with them even starting Max could be a problem. Just to be sure - you've tried manually starting Max on those machines with the same user account that you use for rendering ?

                  Another thing - can you check the Max.log file for something strange ? It should be located in your_system_drive\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Loc al\Autodesk\3dsMax\2019 - 64bit\max_language\Network
