HDRI in V-Ray Light

I have had this bug for a while. When I put a copy of my HDRi in the ENV slot MAX freezes.

Instead of putting the HDRI with multiplier 30 into the environment slot, try to put it into the refraction environment override in the V-Ray settings. Maybe you have to put the multiplier 100 version into the reflection override slot as well.
In general, that is an odd way to do it. What are you trying to achieve?

Simply put, I want the intensity of the dome light, but I want it less exposed through the windows. This is how I have always done it.
