  • Motion Blur in IPR: Totally wrong result

    Hey guys,
I have a huge problem here which causes me a lot of trouble. I am trying to render a rig shot of a moving car. So the car is sharp, and the background blurred. Like in this image here:

For this, I animated my car to drive along a path and attached the camera to it. Then I rendered in ADV on CPU, and this is the result. Looks correct to me.

For fine tuning the scene I need to run IPR, and there the motion blur is totally wrong. Why is the car blurred, and the surface below the car stays sharp? I didn't do anything different, exactly the same scene and setup. Could anybody please check this is a bug?

I tested both the Max physical camera as well as the specific V-Ray physical camera. Both have the same result.

You are right. I'll check what's going on.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Should this be fixed already? I'm having exactly same issue on my current project. IPR with moving camera results wrong motion blur.

Using latest official Vray Next for Max 2020

It works as far as I can see, using Max 24/latest Vray....same result with prod and IPR.

I believe this was in the release notes of one of the recent versions. Camera motion blur working correctly in IPR. In the past the camera did not motion blur its motion in the IPR, though objects did, but this led to an incorrect result.

I tested it in an isolated setup. Indeed it is working now, that's great!
