  • IPR and Backburner weirdness

The scene looks great in IPR but send it off to DR Backburner and huh?? I've checked and all of the network drives are active and the same across all of the other nodes. What is going on? It was working just fine earlier today.

Update: It seems to be just this particular scene...

    Thanks.

That happens to me too and actually just did. Usually, changing render engines and back again will solve it.

I just tried that a couple of times with the scene. She's not budging... I love IPR, but don't like the semi-frequent glitches and crashes :/

Maybe the instance camera big in MAX. If you instance a camera it'll refresh you IPR by just looking at it.

I'm not sure what you mean? Yes, it refreshes a lot, which is what causes the crashes... Are you saying I should use an instance of a camera?

Okay, this is driving me crazy... Yet another scene doing the same thing AFTER I change the render engine to something else and back. I've checked plugins folder, made sure to Transfer missing assets on the DR settings... I don't know where to even start diagnosing the issue other than to say the scene I ran prior to this was just fine. I hate to say it, but things were running much smoother with 3.6

This seems to be a BB issue as DR works just fine on my local workstation.

If you instance a camera, it'll refresh over and over. Delete the camera and add a new one, without instancing an already existing camera.

Looks like it's not picking up some of your textures. Are they all located on one server? Or are they scattered? Make sure that when you use DR that you have the following settings checked.

I always keep those values checked and I just double-checked to make sure that the nodes and BB server all have the same drive access to the maps. The maps were gathered into a single resource folder on my local workstation, so there should be no issue there.
What's weird is that everything works for some scenes but not others. I've even run the vray scene converter and no luck.

Do you suppose it could have to do with network paths? I generally leave these unchecked. Again, all nodes have a mapped drive directly to the asset folder.

This would be awesome in GPU mode.

I use File Path Finder Pro, which quickly lets me move things to my project folder, plus many other things.

Have you ever used relinkbitmaps script? If you have it, run it and see if any mats show up missing. Very strange indeed.

File Path Finder Pro will search paths, too. I also use Collin's script daily, but sometimes it misses missing textures. I'll run PFP, which will find them and then I'll use RelinkBitmaps to find them. Relink Bitmaps searches sub-directories and I don't think PFP does, or I haven't taken the time to see if it does.

I use Collect Asset 2, but it sounds like FPF might be a better utility? CA2 says it uploads everything, but sometimes misses stuff.
