  • "Check for missing files" doesnt work for VRayProxy

    Dear VRay Community

we have a problem with missing VRayProxy objects when rendering animations via backburner. In nearly the half of the frames all VRayProxy objects are missing and we don't find any solution. All textures and proxys are located on the same fileserver. Paths to the assets in our 3D Scenes are absolute.

    Here are our specs:
    25 Renderservers with Windows10 Pro
    1 Fileserver Synology 16-Bay NAS
    1 Managerserver with WindowsServer2008 R2

3dsmax 2018, Backburner 2018, VRay next 1.1 (dongle license), newest Railclone and ForestPro (but not in use)

"Check for missing files" is activated in every scene (If we deactivate the option proxies AND textures are missing in 30-50% of animation frames.)
On the Renderservers the variable "3DSMAX_BACKBURNER_TREAT_MISSING_DLLS_MAPS_XREFS_A S_ERRORS" is set to 1 (Tip from Autodesk Support)
Newest SMB 2.0 Version is installed and activated on the NAS (Windows10 has some problems with the old SMB)
There are no problems with our network (card drivers, cables and switches are doublechecked) or with usernames and passwords.
The problem persists, whether we render with 5 or 25 servers.
DR with all Renderservers works perfectly without errors or missing assets.

What do we wrong (except from using backburner for network rendering)?

    Best regards
    Sascha

Are there any errors or warnings in the V-Ray log on the render servers?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Hey Vlado, thanks for your reply!

The log file is empty. Could be that the file is overwritten during last reboot!? I have to restart the rendering via backburner and will send the log file tonight/tomorrow.

      Kind regards
      Sascha

        Hey Vlado

there is still no error in the log file but the VRay Proxy objects are missing in some frames again.

        Kind regards
        Sascha

          Dear Vlado

we did a new test. This time the log file was written. Please find our attached.

The first frame in the log file has every assets loaded and was rendered correctly. In all subsequent frames the VRayProxy objects were missing. This happens wether we turn "Check for missing files" on or off.

I hope there's a solution for our problem.

          Kind regards
          Sascha
