  • V-Ray Next's VRayHairMtl is brightened with Basic Beauty Compositing.

V-Ray Next Update2's VRayHairMtl is brightened with Basic Beauty Compositing.
    (Lighting + GI + Reflection + Refraction + Specular)

Refraction also seems to be brighter.

Please tell me how to Basic Beauty Compositing a scene with V-RayHairMtl on V-Ray Next (consistent lighting elements enabled).

      Two things are happening.
-The brightening of the sphere's refraction is most likely caused by the 'Affect All Channels' option, which doubles the refraction information when composited in the described method (since the refraction information will be placed in the other channels as well).
-There seems to be information from the VRayHairMtl in the Refraction RE, which may also be duplicated analogically to the glass material (will discuss this with our developers).

For a correct composition, you would need to set the glass material's refraction to affect all channels and remove the VRayRefraction RE from the equation.
Or just use the new VRayHairNextMtl as an alternative.

the floor through the refraction is also being brightened, so I don't think it has anything to do with the hair shader.

What program are you comping in? Can you take a screenshot of how you are assembling?

          thank you for the advice.
I think this is probably the cause.

Please solve the problem that VRayHairMtl appears in Refration RE.

          we use NUKE for compositing.

The "transmission" portion of the VRayHairMtl material is stored into the "Refraction" render element, because technically it is refraction of light through the hairs. There is an option to move this component to the "specular" channel (see attachment).

            Best regards,
            Vlado

              Hello, Mr Vlado
Thank you for your technical comment.

In conclusion, V-Ray Next [Consistent lighting elements on] can not restore V-RayHairMtl's beauty.

I think it is a bug, is it not?
I want to know if it will be fixed by the update.

Yes, it's a bug that will be fixed in the hotfix coming out in a few days. Thanks for reporting it!

                Best regards,
                Vlado

                  Thank you for the fix.

It would be helpful if you could also consider the composition formula for scenes that use "Affect All Channels".

It is required to color correct VRayHairMtl through refraction.
