  • Vrayenviromentfog disabled due to phoenix? (vraynextGPU

    Hi.

    I'm building this scene that has both vrayenviromentfog, and phoenixFD, but as soon as phoenix is added, i get a message saying "Phoenix volumefound in the scene, enviromentfog is disabled"...
    I would like vrayenviromentfog to not be disabled whilst using phoenix as it is kinda of crucial for the scene, and it would be cool to have the envirofog interact with the fire, as apposed to compositing it in later.

    It works fine with vraycpu it seems, except that it wil then ofcours take 20 times as long to render.

    Anyway to use vrayenvirofog and phoenixfd at the same time in vraynextGPU?

    Thanks in advance.

    okay, i just found this here post...

    And i guess the 2 don't play nice.

    I tried the suggestion with the big container and smoke to smoke opacity setting, and it just doesn't look as good and takes way longer to render....
    Guess this is just not gonna work :S

      also had this problem and a similar one, its broken and wont work with VDB volumes either. quite a deal breaker for shots with layered fog and smoke sims.
      crazy slow to render as well
      try redhiftt for these kind of shots, no issues there

          It's in the to do list.
          If it was that easy, it would have already been done

            You can easily workaround by making one volume grid with one voxel with uniform density in it. This is using it https://bit.ly/2L43lgR

              @peter.
              nice, looking forward to it.

              @Blago.

              That worked like a charm, thanks for the tip!
