  • Backburner unfinished frames with VFB and pausing render

    Vray Next CPU 4.2 update

So I have a large render going, 2 hours per frame.

Every time I come in in the morning I pause the render - and now, as I look back through the rendered frames, I see that there are a series of frames that are a fraction of the size of a proper rendered frame.

Could there be an issue with the way the VFB EXR sequence / progressive renderer / backburner is incorrectly registering a frame as "rendered" simply because it has has started and written a file to the hard drive?

Something is wrong, as I also notice that often using progressive renders, I get some frames that are totally not resolved to the same noise level as other files.

Seriously, no response to this? Seems like a simple an obvious error.

Can we see some examples of properly render frames as well as improper one including "frames that are a fraction of the size" and "frames that are totally not resolved to the same noise level".

Regarding the second one "frames that are totally not resolved to the same noise level" - this may happen if the frame requires much higher amount of Subdivs to get the same Noise Level but for some reason such are not calculated due to reaching Max Subdivs or Max Render Time. Can I see the Progressive Image Sampler settings?
