  • save to .JPG from VFB not with correct gamma

    Hello,

    i use a custom made LUT file, with "log" applied in the vfb and save in image option, and "display in srgb colorspace" off.

    but when saved, the JPG is washed out, due to wrong gamma applied.

    So, it is possible to get exactly what i see in the VFB saved as a jpg ?

    thanks!

    You can override gamma when you are saving by using 1.0 instead of 2.2 in the saving dialog
    or you can type this in Maxscript listener and hit enter
    Fileoutgamma=1.0
    that will apply this for all the renders in this file .
    (when you open new max file then Max will ask you to use or override these settings ,so make sure to check what you need then )

      ctrl+c, and then paste into photoshop or equivalent.
      That ought to work, provided the target application is properly color manged (ie. don't use mspaint).

        Yeah works indeed.

        I managed to get an +/- similar Ocio AcesCG->srgb .cube file working while waiting Vlado to add the "save image" in the Ocio VFB option. So it's easy to get .jpg images now without saving as .exr and going thru PS or Nuke
