  • NaN pixel appears in VRaySSS2 element with V-Ray 3.60

When using FastSSS2 Raytaced (Solid) mode with V-Ray 3.60.05, NaN pixel appears in the VRaySSS2 element.

Is there a way to avoid this with V-Ray 3.60?

V-Ray Next does not show this problem, but you need to use V-Ray 3.60 for project reasons.

    A scene file is attached.

    Hello!

Thank you for your scene. I testsed a few options with it and I think I found a workaround for you.
I suggest that you modify the IOR of VRayFastSSS2 material that is currently set to 1.0. Slightly increasing it above 1 will clear away the NaNs.
The default value 1.3 should be appropriate in general, and I don't see NaNs using it as well. And, of course, like you mentioned, there is no such wory with V-Ray Next.

    Best regards,
    Margarita

Certainly NaN disappears by setting IOR to 1.0 or more.
and Lowering the "Specular amount" will eliminate the NaN without changing the Look.

      thank you for the advice.
