  • BerconTile 2D VrayDisplacement has incorrect UV mapping

Rendering a ceiling with a BerconTile map in the material diffuse and a copy of the same map being used for VRayDisplacementMod.

When using the 2D mapping method, the displacement mapping does not match the diffuse.
When using the 3D mapping method it does, but takes too long to render for such a simple displacement.

The incorrect 2D displacement mapping matches the incorrect mapping seen in the viewport diffuse.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

Using BerconTiles with max 2020 and Vray Next update 2.1

Well as I see it, the Bercontiles is a procedural map so you need to use 3D displacement. I know regular tiles work with 2D displacement but not sure if the same applies for Bercontiles.

just found this in the docs:

"The 2D mapping (landscape) method will ignore the Tiling parameters specified in the textures themselves; as a side effect this means that it will not work with the Real-world map size options in the Bitmap and other textures. Instead, you must modify the UVW coordinates of the object, or use the 3D mapping method."
