  • VRay Environment Fog doesn't work

    Hi there,

I want to create a nice scene with an old house and light shines through the window with some volume fog / god rays (if you knew what I mean). But it doesn't work... tried so much and follow tutorial but nothing change.
Is there anyone who can help me out?

    Greetings
    Dirk

    Hello,

Have you tried tweaking the fog distance, fog height parameters or step size, max steps? Also to speed things up a bit and ease the parameters control at the same time you could add a fog gizmo. If that doesn't help, will it be possible to send over the scene to philip.shounev@chaosgroup.com for a closer look?

    Best,

      Hi Philip,

yeah tested all the stuff, but nothing works so I've send you my scene. Maybe you'll find my mistake?
      Software used : Max2020 and Vray 3

      Thank you so much.

      Greetings
      Dirk

Thank you for sending a simplified version of your scene. The reason for not achieving the desired result is because the fog color in general is too dark. Also the fog height and distance need to be increased a bit. Additionally you could try enabling the lights directionality option to achieve the rays effect.
